Sir,
In reply to Your Honour's Confidential letter of the 27th February, 1907, asking for authority to obtain the views of the Hongkong Law Society and suggesting that those of the Hongkong Chamber of Commerce should also be obtained on the subject of an amendment of procedure under Article XXIII of the Treaty of Tientsin which has been proposed by Your Honour, I have the honour to state that I see no objection to asking for the views of these bodies and that I shall be obliged if I may be furnished, for communication to the Secretaries of the Law Society and of the Chamber of Commerce with a specific and succinct summary of the points on which those views are required.
